To mark the centennial of Rudolf Steiner’s Course on Education for Special Needs, which we celebrated in the fall of 2024, the institutions affiliated with Anthrosocial-Vaud decided to jointly organize an art exhibition. Art has always played an important role in our institutions.
On the one hand, it is used as a tool in social pedagogy and special education. On the other hand, it enables those in our care to express themselves, to speak with their own voice, even when they sometimes lack the words. Art can facilitate integration into a group. It provides a framework, a structure, a rhythm. It unfolds in a surprisingly inclusive space where boundaries and asymmetries between those in our care and their caregivers can dissolve. It nourishes the soul and gives meaning.
Singing, music, eurythmy, dance, and theater are forms of artistic expression that have been developed in our facilities over the past decades. This exhibition offers a glimpse into one of these creative fields: the visual arts. The exhibition was held at La Branche from June 13 to August 24 and at the Fondation Perceval from August 28 to October 16, 2024. It was organized by Anthrosocial, La Branche, Les Jordils, Fondation Perceval, and La Clairière in the French-speaking region of Switzerland.
